Each year, thousands of pounds of soft plastic fishing baits are disposed of in landfills or worse, end up at the bottom of our lakes. Fish then ingest these plastics, which can slowly kill them if they are unable to regurgitate. If they end up in a landfill, most plastics don’t degrade and end up sitting there, unable to catch more fish. At Rebait, we wondered, what if we could provide additional life to perfectly usable soft plastic baits?
At Rebait, we take used plastics without much life and mold them into new styles and color combinations. This provides benefits to anglers through providing affordable bait options, as well as giving anglers an option to get free baits by sending in baits that would otherwise be trashed. We also work with conservation agencies to provide recycling bins at various launch locations allowing anglers to put their old baits to good use.
